ACE Facilitators
Briggs
ACE Facilitator
Briggs has been an active volunteer since they were 5 years old, passionate about community outreach, building relationships through networking, and empowering individuals. Growing up in a small town, they knew that there had to be more and moved to the city to pursue flight training.
They bring experience from their past role as Activities Manager and Volunteer Coordinator with GEF Senior’s Housing where they put the “create” into recreation. Briggs later joined Elevate as a learner in the WEST program, and quickly fell in love with the organization’s mission: women and underrepresented groups are given the opportunity to thrive through careers in aviation.
After graduating from Cohort Alpha and starting their role in de-icing with aeromag 2000 as a technician, they continued to work alongside WEST to support learners until they were offered the role of ACE facilitator. When not leading ACE or deicing aircraft, Briggs runs a summer camp for trans and non-binary kids called Camp Dragonfly.
Kendra Kowerchuk
Junior Jets Coordinator
Kendra Kowerchuk has spent her entire life living in Kehewin Cree Nation while attending school in Elk Point, Alberta, at F.G. Miller High School, from which she recently graduated in 2022. After high school, she dedicated herself to working as a Youth Care worker at a Group Home in her community, where she cared for children newborn to age 18 in the foster care system. Her passion for aviation was sparked by solo travel, during which she visited over ten different airports in 2023. This experience allowed her to meet many people who were passionate about their jobs, igniting her own love for aviation. Driven by this newfound enthusiasm, she decided to pursue a career in the aviation industry and enrolled in the WEST program with Elevate Aviation. Kendra graduated from the program with Cohort Juliet in July 2024 and applied for the Programs Assistant position on the day of her graduation. She feels immensely grateful to have discovered that aviation is her dream career path and is thrilled to work for the company that solidified her passion for the industry!
Abbi Gayle
Facilitator and Programs Assistant
For Abbi, aviation is more than a career path—it’s a powerful force for connection. With roots in Political Science and Sociology, and a strong foundation in advocacy for ethnic minority communities, Abbi sees aviation as a unique space where diverse voices, backgrounds, and stories can intersect, grow, and soar. Her aviation journey is driven by a deep love of flight and a belief in its ability to break barriers—geographical, cultural, and social. As a student pilot, she’s passionate about making the skies more inclusive and accessible for everyone, especially those historically underrepresented in the field. During her time with Elevate Aviation, Abbi has helped bring aviation to life for youth nationwide—offering immersive simulator experiences, aircraft walkarounds, and inspiring conversations about what’s possible. She believes that when people feel seen, supported, and uplifted, the sky is no longer the limit.
